RAGHAV BABBAR: LAYERS OF LIFE

EXHIBITION IDENTITY // NAHMAD PROJECTS // FONDAZIONE BEVILAQUA LA MASA

Framing intimacy – an identity shaped by empathy, colour and gaze.

The visual identity for Layers of Life, an exhibition by Raghav Babbar shown in Venice in 2023, was designed to reflect the emotional subtlety of the work while creating a clear, coherent system across campaign, signage and printed materials.

A luminous, contemplative painting of a lone figure became the anchor of the identity – setting the tone for a system built around empathy, space, and attention. Set against a field of optimistic colour, the image acted not as branding in the traditional sense, but as a moment of stillness – a gesture of care that reflected the tone and gaze of Babbar’s work.

Typography was expressive but restrained – chosen for its clarity, softness, and lightly narrative tone. It set a rhythm that supported the work’s observational register, carrying a subtle sense of storytelling without resorting to stylisation. The system was composed to hold this balance across formats – structured, legible, and quietly charged.
