RAGHAV BABBAR: NEW PAINTINGS
EXHIBITION IDENTITY // NAHMAD PROJECTS
A quietly composed identity that amplifies the emotional presence of Babbar’s work.
The visual identity and exhibition materials for Raghav Babbar: New Paintings were shaped by deliberate restraint, reflecting Babbar’s exploration of emotional complexity and the understated moments of human connection. Typography became a central tool. A contemporary mid-serif typeface was selected for its quiet authority and elegant, approachable forms, offering a subtle contrast to the vibrant, textural intensity of Babbar’s paintings.
The artwork Dai became the visual anchor for the exhibition identity. The figure's contemplative posture immediately conveyed introspection, setting a tone that aligned with the emotional depth of the exhibition. An earthy green, drawn directly from a detail within the painting, grounded the visual language. The visual system unfolded across all materials – exhibition graphics, printed collateral, and digital assets – creating a space that invited contemplation without demanding it. Interpretive texts were concise and deliberately understated, offering just enough guidance while leaving room for personal interpretation. Every design decision was made to support and enrich Babbar’s visual narrative – respectful of its quiet power.
