LAYERS OF TIME: MORANDI & RALAIVAO IDENTITY
EXHIBITION IDENTITY // NAHMAD PROJECTS
Graphic restraint in dialogue with the quiet intensity of still life.
Layers of Time brought together two painters from different generations whose still-life practices are rooted in close observation, formal precision and material sensitivity. The identity responded to this shared visual language with a disciplined system – one that privileged tone, rhythm and restraint over interpretation.
A desaturated palette reflected their mutual sensitivity to tone, while a refined serif with sculptural contrast anchored a typographic system designed for spatial rhythm and visual poise. The identity was applied across exhibition graphics, printed materials and digital assets, maintaining a consistent language rooted in precision and control. The key art employed a restrained composition that balanced typographic clarity with material sensitivity.
In the gallery, graphics were deliberately minimal. Wall texts and contextual information were integrated with care, designed to sit lightly within the space. Developed in close collaboration with Nahmad Projects, the identity reflects a considered approach to exhibition design – grounded in visual rigour, curatorial sensitivity and an understanding of how design operates across space and page.
